Free The Children is the world’s largest network of children helping children through education, with more than one million youth involved in our innovative education and development programs in 45 countries. Founded in 1995 by international child rights activist Craig Kielburger, Free The Children has a proven track record of success. The organization has received the World’s Children’s Prize for the Rights of the Child (also known as the Children’s Nobel Prize), the Human Rights Award from the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, and has formed successful partnerships with leading school boards and Oprah’s Angel Network.

FTC has built over 650 schools and currently has 50,000 students enrolled them.  The eradication of extreme poverty begins with education and I am a massive supporter of Free The Children’s programs in Canada and around the world.

I continue to be heavily involved with Free The Children through fund raising campaigns, supporting school groups, speaking and motivation, and volunteering my photography and video services for amazing Canadian based events like WestFest in 2009 and 2010. My most recent trip to visit FTC villages was to Ecuador in Summer 2010. In 2008-2009 I coordinated a major project called Connecting With Kenya that raised $47000 for Free The Children projects in Kenya and directly touched the lives of over 5000 people in Canada. I’ve made some great friends on this journey and this organization has become a big part of my life inside and out. Ask me about Free The Children anytime and I’ll talk your ear off about it.
